Screening of newly digitized raw tapes of beloved Miloliʻi kūpuna Uncle Abel Kahele and Aunty Mona Kahele at Miloliʻi’s annual Lawaiʻa ʻOhana Camp. Every year kamaliʻi and ʻohana gather to learn lawaiʻa pono, fish anatomy, coastal & marine monitoring, kilo skills, and Hawaiian traditional practices. Mahalo for inviting us to be part of Hōʻike night. A beautiful celebration of ʻai pono, mele, hula, and closing with the leo of these kūpuna. To witness the continuity in fishing practices across generations was chicken skin! Mahalo ko Miloliʻi.
