On October 3, 2024 Hoʻomau NMOKA supported a place-based archiving workshop at Ala Kukui with East Maui organizations. We shared about Hoʻomau NMOKA’s grassroots archiving practices—cataloging, digitizing and making publicly accessible footage and transcripts—and learned about community archiving projects in Hāna. Mahalo for a meaningful conversation around caring for stories and images of kūpuna and ʻāina past, present, and future.
