A taste of knowledge exchange

Miki‘ai Series is our newest iteration of kānaka knowledge publications, which include brown papers and miscellaneous publications as part of a continuing effort to create a community knowledge exchange. Prepared by Native Books in partnership with Nā Mea Hawaiʻi and Puʻuhonua Society, past publications include Flowers for Uluhaimalama: The Royal Garden of Queen Lili‘uokalani, Ho’omana’o: Remembering the Kauluwela Boys, and Oli Mahalo and E Iho Ana cards. Mikiʻai ma ka ʻōlelo means a finger-dip of poi, poetically referencing one getting a small taste or bite-sized piece of information on a topic. The small publications offer readers a little taste of Hawaiian culture, history, and practices. Abundant and ‘ono, we hope that Mikiʻai Series nourishes the mind and offers the spirit a sense of curiosity in learning more about this ‘āina. E ola mau ka Lāhui Hawaiʻi!
